Before deciding to come to the plasma centre to donate, you should make sure that you fulfil our donation criteria, the most important of which are:

·         To be 18-65 years old

·         To weigh a minimum of 52 Kg

·         To be able to read and write

·         To be a resident of Tehran Province

·         To hold a valid identity card

·         To be in good health

·         To have eaten a meal at least 2 hours before coming to the plasma donation centre

Despite the progress of biotechnology and use of recombinant methods to produce drugs, plasma-based products still constitute a major part of medicines used by special patients.

Even after fifty years since its inception, plasma production, as an industry, is still growing in America and Europe, and as a result new drugs are introduced to the market every year. Seventy percent of world plasma is collected in America alone and many countries rely on plasma-based drugs produced in America.

At the same time, demand for newer drugs such as special immunoglobulins, antithrombins and fibrin glue is ever on the increase.
